We offer three main types of massage at Central Studio to best suit your therapeutic needs.
Swedish massage combines various hands-on techniques such as gliding, kneading, and cross-fiber friction to break up muscle knots, or adhesions. Based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology as opposed to energy work, it can be relaxing, slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing, to best suit your needs.
Thai Massage uses acupressure, muscle stretching and compression executed in a rhythmic movement of gentle rocking applied on a mat on the floor. Therapists use hands, feet, forearms, knees and elbows to facilitate movements; clients are fully clothed, as no oils are required. Relaxing and invigorating to the nervous system, Thai Healing relieves pain and muscle tension, strengthens and rejuvenates the body and improves circulation.
Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic approach that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
