Peasant Pas de Trois variation from the 1st Act of "Swan Lake"
Swan Lake, arguably one of the most difficult ballets to perform, is considered to most likely be and German or Russian story about a woman, Odette, who is taken by an evil sorcerer and cursed to live as a Swan until true love's promise breaks the spell. True love comes in the form of Prince Sigfried who is celebrating his 21st birthday and facing pressure from his mother, the queen, to produce an heir. The Peasant Pas de Trois of the 1st Act brings levity and beauty to an Act comprised mainly of pantomime and ensemble dancing.
