Isadora Duncan Dance

Isadora Duncan (1865–1927) revolutionized the art of dance, drawing inspiration from nature, music, and the spirit of freedom. Rejecting the rigidity of her era, she danced in Greek tunics and embraced movement that was expressive, natural, and deeply emotional. This class explores Duncan’s legacy through technique, choreography, and her timeless celebration of the body as a vessel of spirit, nature, and humanity. Students will practice Duncan essentials such as solar plexus initiation, the use of gravity, the Universe gesture, and expansive spatial movement, while also learning excerpts of her choreography.
